Jondal -the village of Folgefonna

The short distance from the fjord to the glacier makes Jondal to an extraordinary place for outdoor activity. You can start your day on the glacier and end it sitting in a kayak enjoying the sunset down by the fjord. Both Folgefonna Summer Ski center and Folgefonni Glacier team arranges activities on and around the glacier.

In the small villages of Jondal you can stroll around on narrow paths among wooden houses and fruit gardens from the 18 Century. In the city center of Jondal you will find grocery stores, the tourist information, beaches, GPS paths, and boat and bicycle rental.

In Herand, a small village north of the city centre of Jondal, you will find tracking paths, possibilities for mountain climbing, a culture gallery, a boatbuilding museum, and a small charming pizza restaurant.

Both Jondal and Herand have good harbors for boat guests with possibility for fuel tanking. In both villages you will find a wide range of accommodation possibilities, ranging from romantic rooms on farms to rooms or cabins down by the fjord.

The tourist information in Jondal is located in the old school building from 1895 placed in the middle of the city centre of Jondal.
